Move & Mālama: Community, Movement, and Giving Back

The Switch Society founders, Carolyn and Maya pose in front of a banner.

We’re still smiling thinking about this one.

Move & Mālama came together in the best way. What started as an idea to bring people together turned into a morning full of movement, good food, and real connection, all for a cause that means a lot to our community.

Carolyn kicked things off with a 45-minute sculpt session that got everyone moving and feeling strong. The energy in the group was so special. People showed up for themselves and for each other, and you could really feel that throughout the entire workout.

After we moved, we got to slow things down and share some bites. Maya put together a spread that felt simple but intentional. We had avocado toast with heirloom tomatoes and a miso-garlic aioli, sunflower butter protein balls. In addition, we enjoyed pistachio matcha chia pudding and a southern-style chia banana pudding, both topped with fresh coconut whip.

We also had some amazing contributions from people we love. Elise brought the most unreal coconut carrot muffins and mixed berry scones, which disappeared very quickly. And Lucky’s completely showed up for us with a full cold brew station, syrups and cold foam included. It made the whole morning feel that much more special.

More than anything, this event was a reminder of the power of community. Coming together, moving with intention, sharing a meal, and supporting something bigger than ourselves.

All proceeds from Move & Mālama went toward Oʻahu flood relief, and we’re so grateful to be able to give back in even a small way.

If you came, thank you. If you supported, shared, or cheered us on from afar, thank you too.

We’re so excited to keep creating spaces like this. More movement, more connection, more moments that bring people together in a meaningful way.

If you’d like to continue to donate to flood relief efforts or are in need of resources, you can find both through the Lāhui Foundation here.
